Credit risk management in bank financing

The main objective of this diploma thesis is to simulate the regular decision-making process that a credit analyst goes through when assigning a credit limit for an operating and investment (acquisition) loan for a selected company. The introductory chapter is focused on credit risk category definition and description of main credit risk quantification and mitigation approaches both on individual as well as portfolio basis. The second, practically oriented part includes both financial and strategic analysis of selected business entity, as well as free cash flow prediction followed up by business plan development, all of these carried out in the form of basic analytical tools necessary for credit limit assignments to both short term operating and long term investment (acquisition) loans. In the final part, the selected company is being evaluated using DCF Entity business valuation framework as well as being subject to comparable companies and transactions general valuation approach. Finally, the credit limits for an operating and investment (acquisition) loans are being determined based on the analytical tools drafted within the previous chapters of this thesis.
Bank financing of pharmaceutical company

The aim of my thesis is to propose a financing structure for the selected company and then process the credit application. The first part is focused on the strategy of the bank, lending products and the risks that the bank undertakes. Also contains a description of the credit process - the calculation of a credit rating, financing structuring, collateral, covenants determination and processing of credit application. The thesis analyses the specifics of the pharmaceutical industry. Theoretical knowledge is applied to the example of financing of pharmaceutical company and the preparation of a credit application.
Evaluation of Eni SpA

The main goal of my thesis is the evaluation of Eni SpA Corporation from the sight of the credit analyst. The credit analysis starts with the macroeconomic analysis that explains the main macroeconomic factors that affect the corporation from the outside, such as: economic growth, inflation, financial stability and unemployment. The energy outlook gives the drivers of the energy demand change mainly in the coming 30 years. Qualitative analysis is rich in general description about the corporation and gives a detailed outlook on production and services that the corporation is specialized in. The largest part of the analysis covers financial analysis, important to understand the financial profile of the company, its management, strengths and weaknesses. This work ends up with the analyst's recommendation on the creditworthiness of Eni SpA.

The topic of this thesis is credit analysis, whose importance is currently increasing due to instability of financial markets. The main aim is to determine how perform credit analysis of various subjects, and then to use specific methods to analyze the situation of the selected retail business company. In theoretical part, the credit process is described with a focus on credit analysis, as explained in available literature. Then the credit analysis is performed as a subject of the application part. The results are explained in detail and justified in the conclusion.
Appraisal credit analysis as a tool for reducing credit risk

This thesis deals with the bank's credit risk, its characterization and classification, followed-up by methods and tools used to its managing and reducing. The methods used refer to credit rating, credit scoring, credit registers and qualified estimation as subjective assessment element, which is further analysed in detail. In the theoretical part, the thesis defines factors impacting the business risk and provides view on financial risk evaluation. The analytical part deals with specific model credit risk assessment of the selected subject, based on techniques described in the theoretical part. In conclusion, there is evaluation of using various methods and their importance in practice.

In order to evaluate the creditworthiness of the company not only outstanding financial and economic knowledge will be needed but also inter-personal skills, common sense and good judgment of human nature. As the issue of finding employees with all the above mentioned qualification will occur for commercial banks the main proposition will be either hiring an expert in psychology or providing systematic psychological training for the credit experts. The idea is not currently used in the vast majority of banks and the appropriate training would be of a high value for credit specialists for their self-development. The quality of the credit specialists will trigger higher standards of credit granting. All these efforts will be become a milestone for a more reliable banking system and trustworthy financial transactions.
The credit risk management in the Czech banks

Subject of my thesis is a credit risk in the czech banking environment. It consists of five chapters. First one contains description of basic risks banks are exposed to. The next one addresses the credit risk itself and its management, including determination of credit policy and the process of credit granting. Related to this topic is hedging, in broader sense also including provisioning and reserves creation. Third chapter is about credit derivatives, via which the credit risk can be reduced. Closely related to this topic is a securitisation process and it's products. Fourth chapter deals with regulation, which is an essential part of the banking sector nowadays. I focus primarily on Basel II and its credit risk part. In the final chapter I describe credit risk management of one of the biggest czech banks, Ceska sporitelna, which granted most credits in 2010.
Credit process of a particular credit union

This thesis deals with methodics of credit process of a particular credit union present on the Czech market. Because of confidentiality, the name of the credit union is not mentioned. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part deals with characteristics of credit unions, their specifications and differences from banks. You can find in this part comparison of development of particular values of the analyzed credit union with the whole sector of Czech credit unions and bank sector as well. The second part is focused on importance of credit process, specifics of the balance of credit institutions, description of risks connected to credit process and principle of state regulation of this process. The third part describes in more details credit process of the analyzed credit union with further focus on acquisition period, credit analysis and decision making process. The last part explains questions of guarantee with all the types of guarantee of the analyzed credit union mentioned. Hence in the whole thesis the theory and practice is mixed together. In the concluding part I evaluate quality of credit process of the analyzed credit union, including the differences from credit process of bank institutions.
Analysis of credit process

This bachelor thesis focuses on crediting and it describes different parts of credit process -- forming credit policies, first contact with client and data collection, credit analysis, decision about loans and consecutive credit-monitoring. The thesis also includes definition and systematization of loans, credit legislative and related risks. At the conclusion of thesis, development of indebtedness in the Czech Republic is shown and differences between volumes of credits for particular types of debtors are stressed.
